IMBOLC | How to apply Imbolc to today

Today, the Wheel of the Year turns to IMBOLC, the Celtic festival that marks the start of the lambing season and signals the beginning of Spring. We welcome the return on the light with more hours of sunlight and we witness nature awakening from it's deep sleep.

Today is also St Brigid's Day. She is a Goddess of healing, poetry and smithcraft. She is a Goddess of Fire, of the Sun and of the Hearth. She brings fertility to the land and its people

How can we apply Imbolc to our modern lives? The energy around Imbolc is one of making space for new beginnings. It is time to let go of the past and look to the future, clearing out what no longer serves us, what is broken and whatever is preventing us from reaching out goals. This can be done in numerous ways, from spring cleaning your home to clearing the mind and heart to allow inspiration to enter for the new cycle. It's a good time for wish-making.

> It's time for a Spring clean and a declutter... this can be physically, mentally and emotionally. It is time for a clear out.

 > What you no longer need or have space for, give it away. Donate it to charity.

 > If it is broken and cannot be fixed, throw it away, cleat it out. This applies to physical items but also relationships, partnerships etc This applies to your skincare routine too, check the dates on your products and have a clear out.

 > Look at your habits and lifestyle, what is preventing you from reaching your goals and the best version of yourself? This is the time to make those changes and set new boundaries.

> Just like the farmer sows their seeds with the hope of a bountiful harvest, this is the time for you to plant your own personal seeds, set your intentions and goals. Take sometime today to harness the power of the new moon and Imbolc to write a clear list of goals and the steps that you are willing to take to reach them. This is your time.

Imbolc blessings to you all
