LITHA | What is Litha?

SUMMER SOLSTICE BLESSINGS: Today marks the longest day, Midsummer's Eve or Litha as it is referred to in the Wheel of the Year. It is far from the end of Summer but it is time to prepare for the return on the shorter, colder days and darker nights.
.
In terms of the Wheel of the Year, Litha is the time when the Oak King, even though abundant with all of the blessings of Summer, makes way for his twin, the Holly King, and the slow descent into the dark side of the year begins.
.
Today is all about the sun as this is the peak of the solar year. It is a time to give thanks to the sun for all of the life that it creates on Earth. It is a time to celebrate and give thanks as the Wheel starts to turn towards the first harvest, Lammas.
.
It is also a great time to draw a line under the last six months, celebrate your personal victories and give thanks for the lessons you have learned. Look ahead to the next six months and set your intentions for what you wish to achieve... dream big.
.
Litha blessings to you all
